Mark’s first passion was football and he even tried out for Manchester United. His first job was in a clothes boutique in his hometown and he went on to work in his local branch of Barclays, which is what he was doing when he auditioned for Take That. Mark’s distinctive vocals featured on many of the band’s songs, including the 1993 number one ballad, Babe. When Take That split, Mark was the first band member to release a solo record and his first two singles reached number three in the UK charts. Mark won the second series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2002. And after he joined Robbie Williams live on stage at Knebworth, he returned to the spotlight and signed a record deal. In August 2003, Mark made a successful return to the charts and his single Four Minute Warning remained in the top 40 for eight weeks.
